La historia de dilium comenzó en un aula de instituto. Donato estaba enseñando informática cuando un estudiante, Roberto Sommariva, entregó un examen después de solo 20 minutos - y era excelente. Ese encuentro despertó una colaboración que se movió más allá de las clases hacia la investigación. Juntos se adentraron en el laboratorio de investigación LivingLab con el Prof. Ceravolo bajo la supervisión del Prof. Damiani, explorando las primeras aplicaciones de realidad aumentada y tecnologías espaciales. En 2017 fundaron dilium: inicialmente enfocado en proyectos de AR, con Roberto como socio fundador y los Profesores Ceravolo y Damiani uniéndose como asesores y socios. Lo que comenzó como curiosidad académica creció hasta convertirse en una empresa de Computación Espacial que combina raíces de investigación rigurosa con ejecución de productos.
